AmLight Cyberinfrastructure highlighted at NSF 2024 Research Infrastructure Workshop

vassi2024-06-04T21:34:54+00:00

AmLight Cyberinfrastructure was highlighted at the NSF 2024 Research Infrastructure Workshop. The U.S. National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Research Infrastructure Office (RIO) hosted the workshop from March 26 – 29, 2024, in Tucson, AZ.

Attendees had the option to attend the workshop, co-hosted by NSF’s NOIRLab and the University of Arizona’s Biosphere 2 and its Richard F. Caris Mirror Lab Facility, in-person or virtually. Those who joined in person had the option to attend tours of local scientific facilities.

The Research Infrastructure Workshop served as a collaborative forum for all the U.S. National Science Foundation’s Research Infrastructure Projects. The workshop aimed to support NSF’s mission and promote the scientific endeavor with the following desired outcomes:

  • Provided a forum to collect and exchange best practices and lessons learned that elevated the shared knowledge base
  • Discussed new initiatives and collected community input
  • Demonstrated project management, operations, and business-related tools and techniques
  • Expanded the community of practice by connecting colleagues across disciplines and organizations to promote collaboration between facilities
