CI Engineering Lunch & Learn: In-band Network Telemetry @ AmLight: Lessons Learned after 2 years
Designing, building, and maintaining advanced cyberinfrastructure to support scientific use cases can be challenging. There are numerous items to learn about, and the learning can be never-ending. As a community, it is important for all of us to be available to answer questions, propose new ideas, and build upon our collective knowledge.
Starting in 2017 ESnet, in collaboration with the National Science Foundation, began sponsoring semi-weekly talks on engineering and engagement topics. These CI Engineering Lunch & Learn talks are held on Friday afternoons @ 2:00 pm ET. Abstract: In October 2019, results from the NSF AmLight-INT project were shared with the CI Lunch and Learn community [

share what In-Band Network Telemetry (INT) is capable of and how INT has become the foundation of three other NSF projects at Florida International University (FIU). In this talk, we will quickly review In-Band Network Telemetry and streaming telemetry, the challenges we faced, and the challenges we are still facing. We will describe how AmLight will support INT in its intercontinental network, how INT will be consumed, opportunities for future work and collaborations, and next steps.
